Celebrity Cricket League 2023 Schedule
Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) 2023 is set to kick-off at the end of October, with the schedule sent out to the respective participating teams.
CCL 2023, which is being hosted by India, will feature eight teams from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, UAE, and Australia. The teams will be competing over a month-long tournament, with the winner being crowned the champions of the event.
The teams have been divided into two divisions: Elite and Elite Plus. The Elite group, which consists of four teams, including Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, will play each other twice in the group stages. The winners of each group will qualify for the semi-finals and then, the finals.
The Elite Plus teams, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians, will compete in the round-robin stage and the top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals which will be played on 26-27 January 2023.
CCL has signed a deal with Zee Network, which has enabled the Cricket League to be broadcast live in many countries. Already, there have been discussions between the network and international broadcasters for the event to get a global reach.
The CCL insists that security measures will be in place for the smooth conduct of the tournament and the tournament itself will follow the protocols of Indian Board of Cricket (IBC).
The CEO of IBC, Mr. Mukul Chauhan, said that they were delighted to be a part of the event and were looking forward to the amazing cricket matches ahead.
He further added that they were doing their best to ensure the safety of the spectators, players and all others who were involved in the CCL.
He said, “This tournament is a great initiative and will surely be a great success. We hope that it will encourage people all over the world to come together and support our game.”
