The Rising Stars, captained by Davendra Singh, started the tournament, with consistent performances through the group stage, registering their first win against The Rising Stars in the first game.
The tournament saw inspiring performances by rising stars like Uday Prabhu and Tarun Sharma who was voted as the MVP of the tournament. The star player of the tournament and the captain of The Rising Stars, Davendra Singh, complimented his teammates on their efforts and said, “I am very proud of the way my team fought and stayed focused throughout the tournament and I am happy to have the trophy with us today.”
The tournament’s semi-finals saw Rising Stars taking on the Sky Blasters, who had a great run through the tournament, and Rising Stars coming out victorious in the end.
The finals saw both teams taking no risks and the match went down to the last ball which was played by Davendra Singh, who smashed a boundary to seal the victory for the Rising Stars.
The Rising Stars was awarded the winners trophy, presented by the Chief Minister of Assam, Shri Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister congratulated the winners, saying, “I congratulate The Rising Stars on an outstanding victory and wish them the best for their future endeavors.”
The other teams who had made it to the playoffs were The Warriors and The Gladiators.

The start of Group Stage-2 of the Guwahati Premier League 2023 Cricket tournament was marked by an exciting clash between the hosts, Guwahati Cricket Association and their opposition, the Delhi Cricket Association.
In a thrilling encounter, the GCA edged the Delhi CA by 3 wickets to take an early lead in the tournament.
Batting first, the Delhi CA were off to a blistering start courtesy of some ferocious hitting from skipper Virat Kohli. He slammed 53 runs off just 27 balls to help the Delhi CA post a decent 164/6 in 20 overs.
In reply, the GCA batters put up a strong show, with skipper Shikhar Dhawan scoring a brilliant 84 off just 52 balls. He was ably supported by opener Rohit Sharma, who scored a crucial 36 off 22 balls.
Rohit and Dhawan put on an important 90-run partnership that laid the foundation for the GCA’s successful chase.
The GCA were two wickets down with 4 runs remaining, when No. 4 batsman Cheteshwar Pujara delivered the final knockout punch with a boundary on the fourth ball of the last over. This secured a hard-fought victory for the GCA by 3 wickets.
